Vse najine hipoteze so bile potrjene.
Abstract:
Our research work is psychological, based on the research of beauty ideals, namely, their influence on self-image and body perception. We wanted to explore the beauty ideals and compare them according to the gender of the respondents. We were interested in what kind of body they find beautiful for their own and for the opposite sex. We wanted to compare the influence of beauty ideals considering to the age of the respondents and to explore the consequences that beauty ideals have on people. We also wanted to fint out about the influence of beauty ideals on physical self-image. We conducted three interviews – with cosmetician Saša Žlak Jamšek, with model Brina Knaus and with fitness trainer Marilin Plevnik. We also posted a survey on the web, which was solved by 296 people, and we distributed 24 surveys among people. All our hypotheses have been confirmed. Men like women if they have accentuated curves (emphasis on chest, buttocks). Women and men find as beautiful muscular male body. Women like slender female body. Teenagers and middle-aged people are trying more to achieve beauty ideals than children and older people. While the elderly are trying to get rid of wrinkles. The consequences of beauty ideals are eating disorders, poor self-esteem, beauty treatments, diets among women and by men, also the use of steroids in proteins. Beauty ideals have a negative impact on the individual’s self-esteem.
